By using GhostMe (the app, website, or related services), you agree to these terms.
Who can use GhostMe
You must be 18 or older to use GhostMe. When you first open the app, you confirm that you are 18 or older and that you agree to these terms.
The service
GhostMe lets a host create a chat, share a link, and ghost the chat when done. It is made for short conversations, like talking with a buyer or seller from an online marketplace or a new acquaintance. There are no GhostMe accounts. The host controls the timer, the Participant Limit, and ghosting. If you open someone else's link, they control that chat, and you can leave it at any time. A chat with no timer ends when the host ghosts it, or 30 days after the last message.
Subscriptions
Opening and replying to chats is free. Creating chats requires GhostMe Plus, an auto-renewing subscription sold by Apple: GhostMe Plus Annual (billed yearly, with a 3-day free trial) or GhostMe Plus Weekly (billed weekly, with no free trial). Prices are shown in the app before you buy and may differ by country. Payment is charged to your Apple Account. Subscriptions renew automatically unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel your subscription in your iPhone's Settings > [your name] > Subscriptions. To restore a subscription in the app, go to Settings > GhostMe Plus > Restore purchases. Refunds are handled by Apple under Apple's policies; you can request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies.
Acceptable use and zero tolerance
We have zero tolerance for abuse. Do not use GhostMe for illegal activity, abuse, harassment, threats, hate, sexual content involving minors, exploitation, scams, or to harm anyone.
- Do not attempt to break, scrape, or overload the service.
- Do not impersonate others or misrepresent who controls a chat.
Reporting and enforcement
You can report a single message in the app, or a whole chat in the app or on the web. When you do, we save the chat's most recent messages (up to 50) with the report, review it within 24 hours, and keep it for 30 days. Hosts can remove people from a chat, and anyone who opens a link in the app can block that host. We filter objectionable words and limit how often chats can be created. We may close any chat that breaks these terms.
No permanent tether
When a chat is ghosted or expires, access ends. There is no promise of permanent history or a way for the other person to re-open contact through GhostMe without a new invite from a host.
Disclaimers
GhostMe is provided “as is.” We do not guarantee uninterrupted service. To the fullest extent allowed by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, or for what people say to each other in chats.
Changes
We may update these terms. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms.
